A main trailer, new key visual, and additional voice cast have been revealed for the Thunder 3 anime series. The anime began streaming on Netflix on July 8, 2026.

The trailer also previews the anime’s main opening theme song “Thunderbolt” by Yuuri.
The additional cast members that have been announced for the series include:

They join a main voice cast that stars:
- • Sayumi Suzushiro as Pyontaro Tezuka
- • Natsumi Kawaida as Tsubame Azuma
- • Eri Akiyama as Hiroshi Ochanomizu
- • Honoka Mitsubachi as Futaba Tezuka
Hiroyuki Seshita (Ajin: Demin-Human chief director, Blame! and KamiErabi GOD.app director) is serving as chief director for the anime series, with Keisuke Ide (Levius) as director, Hiroshi Seko (Witch Hat Atelier, Rooster Fighter) as series composer and scriptwriter (credited on the anime’s official website as Koji Seko), and Shin Sugai and Ryunari as assistant directors. UNEND is in charge of the animation production.
Yuki Ikeda’s sci-fi manga series ran in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine from May 6, 2022 to June 5, 2026. Eight tankobon volumes have been published in Japan as of January 2025, with a ninth volume set to be released on July 16, 2026.

Pyontaro is a middle schooler whose little sister, Futaba, simply adores him. One day, he and his buddies—the so-called “Small Three”—decide to watch a weird disc their teacher lent them. Little do the boys realize this disc is linked to another universe…and while they aren’t looking, Futaba gets sucked in! Can Pyontaro and his friends find Futaba? And just what is this other world they’ve discovered?!
