Get ready for Cronenberg summer! Variety reports that musician/icon, Charli xcx (pictured above in The Moment), has revealed the tracklist for her upcoming album, Music, Fashion, Film. So, why are we reporting on it? Because, listed within is a track that features body horror master, David Cronenberg!
Yes, that’s right, Charli xcx did a song collaboration with the man who has given us such cringe-inducing nightmares as Videodrome, The Fly, Scanners, and so many more.
The track is entitled “No One Lasts Forever featuring David Cronenberg” and can be found at the bottom of the tracklist (last, but certainly not least).
This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, however. For one, Charli xcx’s horror fandom is well documented. She recently appeared in the Faces of Death remake/sequel. Not long ago, I wrote about her love for Cronenberg’s Shivers.
As for Cronenberg, we don’t think of him as an actor first, but he’s had plenty of roles that make an impression. Cronenberg has cameoed in plenty of his own films, while also appearing in Jason X, Nightbreed, and this year’s Ready or Not 2.
I wouldn’t say Cronenberg is known for his singing voice, though, and now I’m curious to hear if he does, in fact, sing a bit on the track. Either way, that’s one music video I cannot wait to lay my eyeballs on. Hopefully, it’s nice and gross.
