He may be best known for playing the unstoppable killing machine Michael Myers, but Tyler Mane has revealed a very personal and real health struggle recently.
Taking to social media, Mane emotionally disclosed that he has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Mane began his announcement with the statistic that only one in 750 men is diagnosed with breast cancer.
He elaborated that he was initially going to keep his diagnosis private, but instead has decided to use his profile to draw attention to this relatively rare cancer in men.
In a further update just a day later, Mane disclosed that he had started chemotherapy, and that so far things were looking positive.
Mane explained that he’d had a few of his lymph nodes removed and tested, confirming that his cancer hasn’t spread. Alongside chemotherapy, Mane revealed he is also on a steroid treatment and is continuing to exercise despite the discomfort.
Understandably, the horror community rallied to support Mane, with his comments immediately flooded with support. In his second update video, Mane thanked his fans for their support, revealing that the amount of feedback continues to make him emotional.
Mane is unshakeable in his belief that he will “kick cancer’s ass,” and we believe him!
