The Salty Koharu Has a Soft Spot for Me (Shio Taio no Sato san ga Ore dake amai, or ShioAma) is based on the light novel series written by Kazami Sawatari and illustrated by Achiki. There is a manga by Kaya Tetsuyama, with Comikey describing the synopsis as such:
“Satou Koharu is a pretty girl that everyone can recognize.”
But her attitude with anyone is so bitter that she got nicknamed “Salt-God Sato-san.” Anyone who tried to get close to her got emotionally injured in a brutal way. Though for some reason, I was able to save Sato-san from some pick-up boys where I was working at. Which made her like me, and thus I became a friend of “Salt-god Sato-san.” In front of everyone, she is a salt-god, but in front of me, she is very sweet. This is a high school life story of Satou-san and I.
Fumihiro Yoshimura (My Wife Has No Emotion) is directing the anime at Tezuka Productions. Daisuke Okushima is the character designer. The lead voice actors are Hiiro Ishibashi as Sota Oshio and Miku Ito as the titular Koharu Sato
The Salty Koharu Has a Soft Spot for Me light novel series began in 2019 and has 12 main volumes as of March 18, 2026, the date of the anime’s announcement. The books are published under the Shogakukan Gagaga Bunko label.
The story was initially published as a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel.
