A sixth season of the Rent-A-Girlfriend TV anime series has been announced after the show’s fifth season finale, which will adapt the manga’s “Cohabitation Arc” storyline. Further details on a release date were not confirmed, as of the time of writing.
A special sixth season illustration, featuring Kazuya, Chizuru, and Mini, was also released. It was drawn by series character designer Kanna Hirayama (reprising from past seasons).

Kazuomi Koga (Seasons 1,2, and 4) directed the anime’s fifth season, with Mitsutaka Hirota (reprising) as series composer and Hirayama as character designer. TMS Entertainment Studio 6 was in charge of the animation production, after the past seasons previously credited TMS Entertainment. The second and third seasons had production assistance from Studio Comet.

The fifth season of Rent-A-Girlfriend began airing in Japan on April 10, 2026 and concluded with 12 episodes on June 26, 2026. The first season was released in July 2020, while the fourth season aired in July 2025.
The romantic comedy manga series by Reiji Miyajima debuted in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine on July 12, 2017 and has released 46 tankobon volumes as of June 2026.
Aside from the main manga and anime series, there is also a spin-off series titled
Rent-A-(Really Shy!)-Girlfriend centered on Sumi (released in English by Kodansha USA), a 2022 live-action TV drama series, and a visual novel.
