Back in December it was announced that Paramount and Blumhouse were resurrecting their blockbuster Paranormal Activity franchise.

Evidently, they don’t want to waste much time getting the movie together, as soon after the announcement of a director, we have cast news!

Official sources are reporting that actors Chase Yi and Sonia Mena have been cast as the leads in Paranormal Activity 8.

Yi is an actor and filmmaker with over 70 credits to his name, but is arguably best known for his five-episode arc in 2025’s Mythic Quest.

Mena is currently appearing on the Hulu original drama Tell Me Lies, a role she has played for four seasons since 2022.

Undertone filmmaker Ian Tuason will tackle directing duties, but it remains unknown who has penned the script. Needless to say, plot details are being kept completely under wraps.

Franchise creator Oren Peli will return to executive produce Paranormal Activity 8, as will Blumhouse CEO Jason Blum. Filmmaker James Wan is also aboard, set to executive produce via his Atomic Monster label.

Filming is thought to be currently underway on the newest instalment, which is scheduled to hit screens on May 21st 2027.
