CULT CLASSIC SLASHER “NIGHT SCHOOL” AMONG NEW 4K TITLES FROM VINEGAR SYNDROME

Over the past decade, Vinegar Syndrome have become the go-to label for cult classic cinema, specifically lesser-known eighties slashers and grindhouse fare.

Now, they’ve announced another stellar slate of upcoming titles that will make any genre fan’s mouth water.

First up, we have the cult-classic slasher Night School from 1981.

Directed by John Hughes, the Giallo-inspired tale takes place in Boston, and follows the police as they try to stop a series of brutal decapitations.

Notable for ending up on the infamous video nasties list, Night School is also one of the earliest performances by future award winner Rachel Ward. Over the years, it has garnered a sizeable following amongst genre fans and is making its 4K UHD debut with Vinegar Syndrome.

Also available for pre-order is Abel Ferrara’s Body Snatchers.

The 1993 interpretation of the classic sci-fi tale stars genre legends Christine Elise and Meg Tilly. Despite a tepid reception upon release, the movie is now widely regarded as one of Ferrara’s best. Much like Night School, Body Snatchers will be making its 4K debut with this release.

Finally, Vinegar Syndrome bring us Frank LaLoggia’s 1988 supernatural mystery The Lady in White.

The period piece follows a young boy who unearths a trail of child murders after crossing paths with a ghost.

Although a flop upon release, The Lady in White has since been re-appreciated for its period setting and its eerie small-town atmosphere. A dynamic performance by a young Lukas Haas is also widely singled-out for praise.

As well as each movie debuting in 4K, each release is stacked with extra features. These include commentaries, featurettes, vintage trailers, and more.

As is custom with Vinegar Syndrome releases, each title will also be issued with a limited number of slipcover editions, and will feature reversable artwork.

All of the above titles are available for pre-order now and will release later this month.

Happy viewing!
