SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table is a Studio Deen-produced adaptation of the MF Bunko J light novel series written by Yushi Ukai and illustrated by Nekometaru, with a premise that sees protagonist Yuki participating in myriad death games as a career and aiming to clear 99 of them. Cloudy Beach, which marks Yuki’s 44th death game, places her on an island, where the goal of escape is complicated by a grisly murder.
The returning staff for CLOUDY BEACH includes director Sota Ueno (Days With My Step Sister, the upcoming Dengeki Daisy), series composer Rintaro Ikeda (Insomniacs After School), and character designer Eri Osada (Blade and Soul co-character designer and co-chief animation director, Suicide Squad ISEKAI director).
Meanwhile, the voice cast features Chiyuki Miura as Yuki, Yume Miyamoto as Airi, Anna Nagase as Essei, Yukari Tamura as Koyomi, Konomi Inagaki as Hizumi, Aino Shimada as Maguma, Riko Akechi as Mitsuba, and Hikaru Tono as Mozuku.
