An anime series based on Alien Stage, the popular music-themed South Korean multimedia project, has been announced to be in production.
The announcement comes the day after the reveal of Alien Stage‘s first 3D live show, 3D LIVE ALIEN STAGE Museum in 2372, which will head to Seoul), Tokyo, and Los Angeles in 2027. A few days ago, the YouTube channel of the project’s general director VIVINOS released an animated music video for Zombie Stage, which the Alien Stage Wiki describes as an alternate universe.
The Alien Stage project, which includes animation, comics, music, and merchandise, shares its name with the setting’s “survival audition program,” in which humans “deliver performances designed to captivate the Segyeins overlords.” The official description says, “Through high-quality performance movies, the stories woven by a cast of distinct characters are intimately linked with the music that colors their world. This creates an immersive experience, allowing the audience to re-live the trajectories and evolving relationships of each character.”
Studio Format is credited with the project’s production. Aside from VIVINOS, other highlighted staff names are animation director QMENG and producer KANG.
