A new short anime project has been announced to be in production for the Milky Galactic Universe CG anime series and will be titled MILKY☆BYWAY Spring Special “TERROR ON CHELOVIN’S DAY.“

The new project follows the previous Milky☆Subway: The Galactic Limited Express CG anime series, which was broadcasted on Japanese television and released on YouTube between July 2025 to September 2025. Twelve short episodes were released and had dubbing and subtitles for multiple languages, including English.
The anime was later edited into a theatrical compilation with new scenes and released in Japan in February 2026 under the title Milky☆Subway: The Galactic Limited Express — Kakuekiteisha Gekijo Iki. It was later released on Netflix in June 2026 with the title Milky☆Subway: The Galactic Limited Express — The Movie.
The Galactic Limited Express is created and directed by Yohei Kameyama, who was also credited with its script, character designs, sound direction, and production. Shin-Ei Animation was also credited with the planning production.

The main synopsis for The Galactic Limited Express is described as:
Arrested for reckless space driving, super human Chiharu and cyborg Makina are sentenced to clean the Milky☆Subway—an old interplanetary train. Easy enough, right? Wrong. When the train suddenly takes off, they are thrown into a high-speed space-train spectacle packed with chaos, no plans, and zero strategy. Just pure momentum!
