Ian Tuason‘s (Undertone) Paranormal Activity movie continues to round out the cast who will face the pesky spirits, as Deadline reports that Maya da Costa (Girls Like Girls) has joined the cast.
At this point, we still don’t have any character or plot details.
Da Costa Joins Chase Yi (Mythic Quest) and Sonia Mena (Tell Me Lies) for Blumhouse and Atomic Monster’s next entry in the franchise.
The eighth film in the franchise that started with Oren Peli and his ultra-low-budget 2007 feature, we don’t have any plot details on the next Paranormal Activity at this time.
The untitled feature is produced by franchise newcomer James Wan (Saw, Insidious, The Conjuring) and directed by Ian Tuason (Undertone).
Blum will produce for his and Wan’s Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, while Oren Peli produces for his Solana Films. Paramount is co-producing and co-financing with Blumhouse-Atomic Monster.
The news comes with da Costa hot off her starring role in Girls Like Girls, currently in theaters. She joins a cast of rising stars, signalling a new era for the Paranormal Activity franchise.
The next Paranormal Activity movie has been set for a May 21, 2027, theatrical release.
