Toho has released a special commemorative video for My Hero Academia in celebration of Hero Day in Japan and the anime series’ 10th anniversary, highlighting the heroic journey of the series protagonist, Izuku Midoriya.
The two and a half minute video has English subtitles and features the song “You Say Run,” from the anime series, which was composed by Yuki Hayashi.
In addition, Toho Animation announced that it will be hosting a “My Hero Academia 10th Anniversary Panel” at Anime Expo 2026 on July 4, 2026 at 2:30 PM PST. The panel will include appearances by Daiki Yamashita, who voices Deku, and Koki Uchiyama, who voices Tomura Shigaraki.
The panel will also have the world premiere of the My Hero Academia: I am a hero too short anime, which adapts additional pages of manga material from the My Hero Academia: Ultra Age fan book. It will begin streaming in Japan on August 3, 2026.
The first TV anime season of My Hero Academia debuted in 2016, while the eighth and final season was released in October 2025 and ended the following December. The series also inspired four anime films, including 2024’s My Hero Academia The Movie: You’re Next. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime series and films in select countries and territories worldwide.
The anime’s bonus episode “More” was released worldwide on May 2, 2026.
The superhero action manga series by Kohei Horikoshi ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from July 7, 2014 to August 5, 2024. Forty-two total tankobon volumes were published in Japan. A spinoff titled My Hero Academia: Vigilantes was published from 2016 to 2022 and received its own TV anime adaptation, which has spawned two seasons so far.
