100 METERS Studio Reveals Trailer, August 1 Release Date for Rusuban Anime Short

The X/Twitter account and YouTube channel of ROCK’N ROLL MOUNTAIN, the studio that produced CEO and founder Kenji Iwaisawa‘s (On-Gaku: Our Sound) 2025 anime film 100 METERS, has released a trailer for the short animation Rusuban. It was also revealed that the 13-minute anime will be screened at Shinjuku’s K’s cinema from August 1 to 7 with Iwaisawa’s 2010 short Mountain.

Rusuban, which adapts a short manga by Akiko Okuda, is set in August 1987, follows the protagonist Tokko’s day when they are left to watch the house. The trailer offers a peek at scenes like a cat toy being washed and a coin being inserted into a kaiju-like piggy bank, various sections of a house, and some stylized visuals.

Ayumi Yanagisawa is the director of the anime, while Iwaisawa has a planning and produce credit. The cast includes Cocoha Tachibana, Yuka Kato, Atsuyoshi Miyazaki, Mitsuho Kanbe, Manami Imai, and Katsuki Akane.

The Rusuban manga was featured in Okuda’s “Shinzo” anthology, which placed fifth in the women’s category of ThIs Manga is Amazing! 2020.
