PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — <\/span>Two people were injured, including a child, after flames ripped through a home in West Philadelphia on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n Firefighters responded just before 10 p.m. to the unit block of South 55th Street, where witnesses reported heavy flames coming from the first floor of a home.<\/p>\n Residents on the block said they heard a woman screaming from a second-floor window that her child was trapped inside.<\/p>\n The child was rescued and taken to an area hospital in stable condition.<\/p>\n Officials say a second person who was injured was also hospitalized in stable condition.<\/p>\n The cause of the fire remains under investigation.<\/p>\n Copyright \u00a9 2026 WPVI-TV.
