On June 6, 2023, the fictional paranormal series Paranormal Closure disappeared from television without explanation. More than a year later, footage claiming to be its unaired twelfth episode surfaced online. That mystery provides a strong opening for EPISODE 12, directed by Shawn Robinson.<\/p>\n
It also feels like the beginning of a warning nobody intends to follow.<\/p>\n
The couple leading Paranormal Closure are immediately likable. Their chemistry feels natural, which gives the investigation some emotional weight before everything starts falling apart.<\/p>\n
The acting remains good throughout, especially when the supernatural activity begins pushing one of the husbands toward a complete breakdown. At a certain point, the options are leave him or take him somewhere with grippy socks. Continuing the investigation should not remain on the table.<\/p>\n
I have one reliable rule for paranormal investigations. Never go looking for children who claim they saw something in the woods.<\/p>\n
Best case, they want attention. Worst case, it is a wendigo. Neither possibility deserves your afternoon.<\/p>\n
The young actors are the film\u2019s greatest strength. They keep their performances quiet and believable rather than trying too hard to appear creepy. Several of the film\u2019s best moments work because the children know when to do less.<\/p>\n
EPISODE 12 feels like Insidious filtered through Paranormal Activity. It combines domestic supernatural horror with handheld cameras, long silences, and people refusing to leave when leaving is clearly the correct answer.<\/p>\n
The strongest scares come from shapes, sounds, and small movements near the edge of the frame. The film understands that found footage becomes frightening when the audience spots something before the characters do.<\/p>\n
The sound quality is uneven, and some dialogue becomes difficult to hear. It is noticeable, but this is an independent production. The problem deserves mention, not cruelty.<\/p>\n
The pacing is the film\u2019s biggest weakness.<\/p>\n
EPISODE 12 is extremely slow, with long stretches that do not provide enough character development, evidence, or dread to justify the waiting. A slow burn still needs something burning.<\/p>\n
There is a good supernatural mystery here, supported by a charming central couple, strong acting, and child performers who nearly steal the entire film. It simply takes too long to reach its strongest material.<\/p>\n
EPISODE 12 is worth watching for the cast and its recovered-broadcast premise.<\/p>\n
