It seems the filmmaking bug runs in Curry Barker\u2019s (Obsession<\/em>) family, as THR<\/a> reported that his father, Jeff Barker<\/strong>, is set to direct the horror short Medium Rare <\/em><\/strong>starring Dane Cook<\/strong> (pictured above in Employee of the Month<\/em>). <\/p>\n

\u00a0Lesley Ann Warren <\/strong>(Clue) also stars. <\/p>\n

Described as a psychological horror film, Medium Rare <\/em>follows a man trapped inside a bar, where reality begins to unravel in increasingly disturbing ways. <\/p>\n

Said Jeff Barker, \u201cMedium Rare<\/em>\u00a0is a short story I wrote eight years ago. I\u2019m honored by the team of people helping me bring this project to life\u201d. <\/p>\n

A screenwriter by trade, Jeff Barker previously worked as a script consultant on Obsession<\/em>. THR notes that he\u2019s the one responsible for penning that incredibly unsettling Hansel and Gretel monologue that star Inde Navarrette delivers during the party scene. <\/p>\n

As for Cook, there\u2019s a name I haven\u2019t heard in a while. The comedian was big in the early aughts, appearing in films like Employee of the Month<\/em>, Good Luck Chuck<\/em>, and Mr. Brooks<\/em>, to name a few. <\/p>\n

Producers are Jacob Yakob, Mehrodod Heydari of LD Entertainment, Alex Bretow and Kourosh Ahari of Mammoth Pictures, Lee Roy Kunz of World\u2019s Fair Pictures, and Chuck Shaughnessy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Production on Medium Rare <\/em>is expected to begin in Los Angeles later this summer.<\/p>\n
