They also described daily movements of Israeli tanks, construction of sand embankments, and recurrent gunfire, with families\u00a0reportedly remaining\u00a0inside their tents most of the day because they are afraid of being injured by gunfire or stray bullets.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n

Military\u00a0activity stepped up<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h4>\n

OCHA<\/a> said humanitarian partners received reports\u00a0on Tuesday afternoon\u00a0of intensified military activity in the vicinity of\u00a0displacement\u00a0sites near the \u201cYellow Line,\u201d including reported tank movements towards one of\u00a0these areas.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Initial reports\u00a0indicated\u00a0that one Palestinian was killed and three others were injured at one site.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The\u00a0insecurity is severely disrupting the delivery of essential\u202faid, including water, food, bread, hygiene\u202fsupport\u202fand routine site-management services, OCHA said.\u00a0The agency noted that a\u202fwater-truck\u202fdriver was\u202freportedly injured\u202fby\u202fgunfire\u202flast Wednesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Across Gaza,\u00a01.1 million children\u00a0face uncertain access to water every day, according to UN child rights agency UNICEF<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Some\u00a082 per cent of households are water insecure,\u00a0UNICEF\u00a0said,\u00a0while up to 70 per cent of the population is unable to collect the recommended minimum of six\u00a0litres\u00a0of water per person per day for drinking and cooking.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Advancing clean energy shift \u2018has never been more urgent\u2019 as temperatures rise\u00a0<\/h2>\n

The global shift to renewable energy \u201cis now unstoppable \u2013 but it still needs to move much faster,\u201d\u00a0UN\u00a0Deputy Secretary-General\u00a0Amina Mohammed<\/a>\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0on Tuesday in remarks to the High-Level Meeting on Critical Energy Transition Minerals.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She stressed that advancing this transition\u00a0\u2013\u00a0at\u00a0speed and scale\u00a0\u2013\u00a0has\u00a0never been more urgent or vital.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe\u00a0climate crisis is driving\u00a0us\u00a0deeper into planetary\u00a0overshoot\u00a0with rising temperatures pushing us closer to irreversible catastrophic tipping points,\u201d\u00a0she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Fossil fuel \u2018folly\u2019<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n

\u201cAt the same time, a\u00a0global energy crisis is exposing the folly of a world still hooked on hydrocarbons, with limited access to cleaner fuels for the poor, and accelerated destruction of our natural systems, pushing ecosystems to the brink,\u201d she added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ms. Mohammed\u00a0pointed out that these crises have one common cause\u2014fossil fuels.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

She underscored that they demand the same answer, namely\u00a0\u201ca fast,\u202ffair\u202fand inclusive transition to clean energy, along with shared benefits from\u00a0decarbonisation, and a surge in adaptation finance, resilient\u202finfrastructure\u202fand climate justice for those already facing climate harm.\u201d\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sudan cholera outbreak expands amid multiple drone attacks\u00a0<\/h2>\n

Cholera continues to spread in Sudan as new drone attacks endanger\u00a0both\u00a0civilians and humanitarian operations, the UN aid coordination office OCHA\u00a0said on Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Multiple drone attacks have been reported across the Darfur and Kordofan regions, the agency said in\u00a0an update<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Humanitarian partners reported that on Sunday, a drone\u00a0reportedly struck\u00a0a fuel station in the Al Malaja area of El Obeid, capital of North Kordofan state.\u00a0<\/p>\n

That same day, a drone\u00a0also\u00a0struck several trucks traveling in North Darfur along the road between\u202fEl Fasher and Um\u00a0Kadada. A\u00a0separate\u00a0drone attack resulted in civilian casualties in\u00a0Kubum\u00a0town in South Darfur state.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The strikes are\u00a0happening as\u00a0cholera continues to spread to new areas in Darfur and Kordofan.\u00a0<\/p>\n

More\u00a0cholera\u00a0cases\u00a0emerge<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h3>\n

New cases\u00a0reportedly\u00a0were\u00a0confirmed in Kampala displacement camp\u00a0in\u00a0South Darfur, OCHA said, while\u00a0Tawila locality in North Darfur\u00a0reported its first suspected case.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cIn West Kordofan, which has seen the highest number of cases, six new suspected cases and two associated deaths had been recorded by health partners, while in North Kordofan, 32 new suspected cholera cases were reported on Sunday in Gharb Bara locality,\u201d the agency added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The outbreak is unfolding as the war in Sudan rages on. As of\u00a07 July, there were 1,330 confirmed cases and 114 deaths, according\u00a0to the World Health Organization (WHO<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sudan faced a major cholera outbreak\u00a0around the same time last year\u00a0that resulted in more than 80,000 suspected cases and over 2,000 associated deaths.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the UN and partners continue to pre-position supplies and scale up their response.\u00a0For example,\u00a0UNICEF delivered essential health supplies to El Fula in West Kordofan on 12 July that will support\u00a0nearly\u00a0430,000\u00a0people.\u00a0<\/p>\n
