James Cameron\u2019s Terminator 2: Judgement Day is widely considered one of the best sequels of all time. For many, it surpasses the thrills offered by the 1984 original.<\/p>\n
Unbelievably, 2026 marks 35 years since Cameron\u2019s powerhouse hit screens. To mark this momentous anniversary, Fathom Entertainment, Rialto Pictures, and StudioCanal are sending the movie back to theatres!<\/p>\n
Marking the movie\u2019s infamous Judgement Day date, Terminator 2 will be re-released throughout the world between August 27th and September 4th 2026.<\/p>\n
Far from a standard re-issue, Terminator 2 will hit screens in 4K, RealD 3D and premium formats.<\/p>\n
The movie sees Arnold Schwarzenegger return as the T-800. This time, he is tasked with protecting survivor Sarah Connor and her son John. Pursuing them is the seemingly indestructible T-1000, portrayed by Robert Patrick.<\/p>\n
Of the re-release, creator James Cameron issued the following statement expressing his excitement:
\u201cT2 was made for theatres, and our lovingly-prepared 3D version, coming back to the big screen, is the absolute best way to see the film. I believe it\u2019s safe to do spoilers after 35 years, so SPOILER ALERT: the good guys win against the AI super-intelligence! And maybe that\u2019s a message of hope we all could use this summer.\u201d<\/p>\n
