Artist Trevor Henderson<\/a><\/strong> is back in the news again, as Deadline<\/a> reports that Sony\u2019s TriStar Pictures has landed feature film rights to his creepy viral meme, Cartoon Cat<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The news comes just a week after it was announced that Warner Bros. would adapt Henderson\u2019s Siren Head<\/em> meme. <\/p>\n

It also acts as further proof that studios are scrambling to find the next internet sensation after YouTube creators Curry Barker and Kane Parsons smashed the box office with Obsession<\/em> and The Backrooms<\/em>, respectively.<\/p>\n

Producers on Cartoon Cat<\/em> are Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, Scott Glassgold, and J. Todd Harris, along with Thomas Pettinelli and Marc Marcum. <\/p>\n

Deadline notes that TriStar\u2019s search for a filmmaker to adapt\u00a0Cartoon Cat<\/em>\u00a0has already begun.<\/p>\n

The Outlet also notes that Henderson\u2019s cat is \u201cdescribed as an ancient hollow rot that uses the collective human awareness and memories of old cartoons as a passageway to manifest into our reality \u2013 and wreak violent havoc.<\/strong>\u201c<\/p>\n

Of course, this isn\u2019t the first time Henderson has worked with Sony. The highly unique artist also designed all of the creatures for Screen Gems\u2019 Tarot<\/em> (easily the best part of an otherwise forgettable film). <\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been a fan of Henderson\u2019s for years. It seems every time I log onto socials, I come across yet another unsettling creation from the artist. With such a strong portfolio of monsters and other entities, I would not expect this to be the last we hear of a studio snatching up the rights to Henderson\u2019s work. Frankly, it\u2019s about time they all took notice of what he can do. <\/p>\n

Here\u2019s to the mind of Trevor Henderson haunting audiences for years to come. <\/p>\n
