{"id":35862,"date":"2026-07-13T10:39:05","date_gmt":"2026-07-13T14:39:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/design-providers.com\/rise\/mike-flanagans-carrie-finally-revealed\/"},"modified":"2026-07-13T10:39:05","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T14:39:05","slug":"mike-flanagans-carrie-finally-revealed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/design-providers.com\/rise\/mike-flanagans-carrie-finally-revealed\/","title":{"rendered":"Mike Flanagan&#8217;s &#8216;Carrie&#8217; Finally Revealed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The wait is over.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/carrie-tv-series-first-look-mike-flanagan-modern-twist-exclusive-12015053\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"(opens in a new tab)\">Entertainment Weekly<\/a> has debuted the very first official images from <strong>Mike Flanagan<\/strong>\u2018s upcoming adaptation of <strong>Stephen King<\/strong>\u2018s <em><strong>Carrie<\/strong><\/em>, giving horror fans their first look at the filmmaker\u2019s bold new take on one of the genre\u2019s most beloved coming-of-age horror stories.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first-look images arrive just as we finally have a better idea of when the eight-episode Prime Video series will debut.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this year, co-star <strong>Katee Sackhoff<\/strong> revealed at Fan Expo Vancouver that Amazon is targeting an <strong>October 2026<\/strong> premiere, teasing, \u201cYou guys are in for a treat. It\u2019s very good. It\u2019s very good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Based on <strong>Stephen King<\/strong>\u2018s landmark 1974 debut novel, Flanagan\u2019s \u201cbold and timely reimagining\u201d stars <strong>Summer H. Howell<\/strong> as Carrie White, a lonely high school outcast who has spent her life isolated under the thumb of her domineering mother. After the sudden death of her father, Carrie is thrust into public high school, where relentless bullying, a community-shaking scandal, and the emergence of terrifying telekinetic abilities change her life forever.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking with the mag, Flanagan made it clear that he wasn\u2019t interested in simply remaking <strong>Brian De Palma<\/strong>\u2018s 1976 classic.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe movie exists, and it\u2019s a masterpiece,\u201d Flanagan says, explaining that the series gave him the opportunity to revisit King\u2019s novel from a different angle rather than recreate a film that already got it right.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Summer H. Howell also described her Carrie as someone who\u2019s much more open to the world than previous incarnations, explaining that she\u2019s curious, wants friends, and genuinely wants to experience life before everything begins to unravel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, <strong>Samantha Sloyan<\/strong> teased a more nuanced take on Margaret White than audiences may be expecting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cOur Margaret White is a woman who fiercely loves her daughter and wants to protect her from this world,\u201d Sloyan explained, adding that Margaret believes isolating Carrie isn\u2019t punishment, but the only way she knows how to keep her safe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cast also includes <strong>Samantha Sloyan<\/strong> (<em>The Fall of the House of Usher<\/em>), <strong>Siena Agudong<\/strong> (<em>Resident Evil<\/em>), <strong>Alison Thornton<\/strong> (<em>School Spirits<\/em>), <strong>Thalia Dudek<\/strong> (<em>The Irrational<\/em>), <strong>Josie Totah<\/strong> (<em>Saved by the Bell<\/em>), <strong>Arthur Conti<\/strong> (<em>House of the Dragon<\/em>), <strong>Joel Oulette<\/strong> (<em>Trickster<\/em>), <strong>Amber Midthunder<\/strong> (<em>Prey<\/em>), and <strong>Matthew Lillard<\/strong> (<em>Scream<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recurring guest stars include <strong>Kate Siegel<\/strong>, <strong>Michael Trucco<\/strong>, <strong>Katee Sackhoff<\/strong>, <strong>Rahul Kohli<\/strong>, <strong>Crystal Balint<\/strong>, <strong>Danielle Klaudt<\/strong>, <strong>Heather Graham<\/strong>, <strong>Tim Bagley<\/strong>, <strong>Tahmoh Penikett<\/strong>, <strong>Mapuana Makia<\/strong>, <strong>Naika Toussaint<\/strong>, <strong>Delainey Hayles<\/strong>, <strong>Cassandra Naud<\/strong>, and <strong>Rowan Danielle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Flanagan serves as writer, showrunner, and director on select episodes, with Amazon MGM Studios producing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019ll have much more on <em>Carrie<\/em> as we get closer to its expected October premiere.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"single-tags\">Tags: Carrie mike flanagan stephen king <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"categories single-categories\">Categorized:Images News Streaming \/ Home Video TV<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The wait is over.
