And no, you didn\u2019t miss the Phillies winning their third World Series in nearly 143 years of existence.<\/p>\n From the High School to Collegiate level\u200a\u2014\u200aPhiladelphia and it\u2019s suburbs are once again on the map as a destination<\/a> for baseball talent. Having the 2026 MLB Draft at the Pennsylvania Convention<\/a> Center this weekend was yet another example of how.<\/p>\n In the third round to be specific.<\/strong><\/p>\n With the 92nd selection overall\u200a\u2014\u200athe New York Mets selected Aiden Robbins. Robbins<\/a> is from Yardley<\/a> and attended the University of Texas\u200a\u2014\u200aand took the Longhorn\u2019s to a 5th place National Rank<\/a> in the 2026 NCAA Mens College World Series. He attended<\/a> Holy Ghost Preparatory School.<\/p>\n In the same round\u200a\u2014\u200athe San Diego Padres<\/a> took RHP Ryan Lynch<\/a> from the University of North Carolina. Back in 2025\u200a\u2014\u200athe Moorestown, New Jersey native started the Atlantic Conference Tournament Championship<\/a> Game against the Tigers with a shutout performance. The result<\/a> was the Tarheel\u2019s twenty-seventh Conference<\/a> Championship overall. Also drafted in the 17th round was Duke McCarron<\/a> out of Ocean City High School and St. Joseph\u2019s University. McCarron won a Group 3 State<\/a> Championship in 2021 while at Ocean<\/a> City High School. He also played at State College of Florida as well as the University of Maryland<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Phillies got in on the local talent, too.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/p>\n In the 4th Round (pick 128) the Phillies selected LSU\u2019s Deven<\/a> Sheerin. The 6 foot 5 and 255 pound RHP is a native of Reading<\/a> and a graduate of Exeter High School<\/a>. He played one season at Mount St. Mary\u2019s before transferring to LSU<\/a>. In the 10th Round\u200a\u2014\u200athe Phillies selected<\/a> Infielder Reece Moroney<\/a> from the University of Rhode Island. At Rumson-Fairhaven High School won sectional in baseball twice and a Championship<\/a> in Soccer once.<\/p>\n The Phillies then selected St. Joseph\u2019s University pitcher Christian Coppola. Coppola\u200a\u2014\u200aa Galloway, N.J. resident and graduate of Cedar Creek High School<\/a>\u200a\u2014\u200awas part of the 2023 National<\/a> Collegiate Team. He also played for both the University of Arizona and Rutgers.\u00a0<\/p>\n And how about Gloucester Catholic Catcher<\/a> Braeden Lipoff<\/a> who batted an incredible\u00a0.459 average while helping<\/a> to win<\/a> a 4th State Championship by 2026?
