\n\tPosted on:<\/em> July 12th, 2026\n<\/p>\n For a while there, it seemed there wasn\u2019t a week that went by without an update on Ryan Coogler\u2019s reboot of The X-Files.<\/p>\n Be it casting news, or exciting nuggets from Coogler himself, there was always something to report. However, recently, things have gone quiet\u2026 Until now!<\/p>\n Star Himesh Patel recently dropped the exciting news that Coogler\u2019s X-Files pilot has wrapped filming, and now it\u2019s just a waiting game.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t want to say anything that\u2019s going to get me disappeared. Needless to say, myself and Danielle Deadwyler are playing completely new characters,\u201d Patel teased.<\/p>\n \u201cWe just wrapped on the pilot,\u201d he continued. \u201cIf we get to do more\u2026 we\u2019ll see where we go from there.\u201d<\/p>\n So, it seems Patel has clarified that Hulu only green-lit a pilot from Coogler, and not a full season, as was previously believed.<\/p>\n This means that everything is currently in the streamer\u2019s hands. If they approve of the pilot, there\u2019s every chance The X-Files will be back with a full season order.<\/p>\n However, as we recently saw with Buffy the Vampire Slayer: New Sunnydale, Hulu aren\u2019t afraid to say no, even if it\u2019s an attempt to reboot a classic property. So, all we can do now is cross our fingers and hope for more X-Files.<\/p>\n Alongside Patel and Danielle Deadwyler, Coogler\u2019s pilot also features guest roles from the likes of Amy Madigan, Lochlyn Munro, and Steve Buscemi.<\/p>\n Additionally, original X-Files stars Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny have confirmed \u201cdiscussions\u201d have taken place with Coogler regarding their return.<\/p>\n Hopefully Hulu decide Coogler\u2019s pilot is a winner and there\u2019s more X-Files on the horizon.<\/p>\n We\u2019ll keep you posted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Posted on: July 12th, 2026 For a while there, it seemed there wasn\u2019t a week that went by without an update on Ryan Coogler\u2019s reboot of The X-Files.
