Blumhouse Atomic Monster<\/strong>\u00a0is launching its newest android horror movie set in the M3GAN universe, and they say it will keep you on the edge of your seat. Director and co-writer\u00a0Kate Dolan (You\u00a0Are Not My Mother)\u00a0<\/em>delivers this provocative thriller that blurs the line between coded devotion and obsession. It\u2019s called SOULM8TE<\/strong>, and it will premiere at home exclusively on digital platforms starting August 1, 2026. <\/p>\n Dolan wasn\u2019t so sure about the premise initially, but she says it grew on her over time. <\/p>\n \u201cWhen Blumhouse Atomic Monster first approached me about an erotic thriller set in the M3GAN-verse<\/strong>, I thought,\u00a0are you insane?\u00a0<\/em>But something drew me in. We exist in a bizarre time where companies sell us \u2018connection\u2019 through apps, algorithms, and AI. Yet those are the same forces pulling us apart. The lonelier we get, the more dependent we become on the tools doing the pulling,\u201d states Dolan.\u00a0 \u201cSOULM8TE<\/strong>\u00a0is a movie about that vicious cycle. It is a satirical, unhinged movie that explores desire, obsession, autonomy and control. It\u2019s a movie that knows how ridiculous it is, and I\u2019d argue it\u2019s best watched the way you\u2019d watch\u00a0Basic Instinct\u00a0<\/strong>or Showgirls<\/strong>\u00a0now, with friends, a drink in hand, and zero shame about shouting at the screen.\u201d<\/p>\n SOULM8TE<\/strong>\u00a0follows a grieving engineer tasked with testing a ruthless tech giant\u2019s new\u00a0artificially intelligent android.
