We are all eagerly anticipating Godzilla Minus Zero<\/em> from Minus One<\/em> director Takashi\u00a0Yamazaki. Minus One immediately became a fan favorite, with many (including myself) viewing it as the best Godzilla film since the original. Now, before Minus Zero<\/em> stomps into theaters, it sounds like Yamazaki already has his next project set up. <\/p>\n

THR<\/a> reports that the filmmaker has teamed with 20th Century Studios and Ridley Scott<\/strong>\u2018s Scott Free banner for the sci-fi epic film, Nue<\/strong><\/em>. At this time, we don\u2019t have any plot details, but we\u2019ll take any news we can get on Yamazaki\u2019s next project. <\/p>\n

Ridley Scott and Michael Pruss of Scott Free will produce, alongside Keiichiro Moriya and Go Abe from Robot Communications, and Toho-Tombo\u2019s Georgina Pope. Scott Aversano will oversee for 20th Century. Amie Horiuchi will also serve in a producing capacity.<\/p>\n

I am honored to have the opportunity to make it happen with the creative brilliance of Ridley Scott and Scott Free and the fantastic team at 20th\u00a0Century\u00a0Studios. Despite having no idea what Nue<\/em> is even about, I\u2019m already excited just reading it described as a sci-fi epic. Because that\u2019s exactly what Minus One<\/em> is and what Minus Zero<\/em> appears to be. Epic stories about human perseverance in the face of impossible odds and stunning horror. Yamazaki breathed a soul into Godzilla that had been missing from recent films. It was the first time I had cried during a Godzilla movie since the big green guy\u2019s demise in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah<\/em>. Minus One<\/em> was an extraordinary accomplishment, and I expect Minus Zero to be the same. Because Yamazaki is just that talented. <\/p>\n

Whatever Nue<\/em> is, I\u2019m already seated and equipped with popcorn and tissues (just in case). <\/p>\n

Up next from Yamazaki is Godzilla Minus Zero<\/em>, releasing in the US on November 6th<\/strong> via Toho International.<\/p>\n
