PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — <\/span>PECO and IBEW Local 614 reached a tentative contract agreement Monday night, bringing an end to a three-day strike involving about 1,600 workers.<\/p>\n The union announced the deal after days of negotiations and picketing across the region.<\/p>\n IBEW Local 614 says it won all of its major contract priorities: cash balance pension plans for all members, full retirement medical coverage for all members and significant general wage increases for all members.<\/p>\n “Tonight, we declare victory. IBEW Local 614 is ending our strike with a historic win and a landmark contract. This is the beginning of a new era at PECO, one where greed does not go unchecked and the workers who make modern life possible get the respect and dignity we are owed,” said Larry Anastasi, President and Business Manager of IBEW Local 614.<\/p>\n PECO says the agreement reinforces its shared commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and delivering exceptional service.<\/p>\n “Throughout this process, PECO has remained focused on doing what is right for our customers, employees, and the communities we serve. This tentative agreement reflects our commitment to recognizing the important contributions of our represented employees while ensuring we continue to provide the safe, reliable energy service our customers depend on every day,” said PECO in a statement.<\/p>\n Full details of the agreement were not immediately released.<\/p>\n The deal comes after weekend storms knocked out power to thousands across the region. Crews from out of state have been assisting with restoration efforts.<\/p>\n The strike began at 12:01 a.m. on July 4 after months of negotiations over wages, retirement benefits and working conditions.<\/p>\n IBEW Local 614 represents about 1,600 linemen, gas technicians, mechanics, call center workers and back office workers.
