<\/span><\/p>\n Stairs<\/span>, the critically acclaimed short horror film from writer-director Michael Kuciak, has been officially selected as one of the launch titles for the newly debuted streaming platform, HorrorHound TV.<\/span><\/p>\n The film is available to stream immediately for free. Audiences can view the movie directly on the official platform page: <\/span>https:\/\/horrorhound.com\/tv\/stairs<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n Stairs<\/span> delivers a chilling, claustrophobic narrative centered on an everyday task turned nightmare. The film\u2019s synopsis sets the stage:<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cA woman is doing laundry on a quiet night. But as she takes her basket back up to her apartment, she realizes the stairs eternally repeats as she ascends, like an Escher painting. She tries to escape this strange situation, to no avail; the doors are locked, and descending produces the same eternal result.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The short serves as a terrifying proof-of-concept for an upcoming feature-length adaptation currently in development. Director Michael Kuciak utilizes the growing subgenre of \u201climinal horror\u201d to tap into deep-seated subconscious fears.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m deeply honored to have <\/span>Stairs<\/span> be a part of HorrorHound TV\u2019s launch,\u201d said Kuciak. \u201c<\/span>Stairs<\/span> is a short proof-of-concept for a feature version I\u2019m working to get made. It\u2019s very much in the vein of a \u2018liminal horror\u2019 project, in the same tradition as films like <\/span>Backrooms<\/span> and, more tangentially, <\/span>Skinamarink<\/span>, in the sense that a seemingly normal space suddenly becomes frightening.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n About the Filmmaker<\/p>\n Michael Kuciak is an active voice in genre filmmaking. In addition to developing the feature version of <\/span>Stairs<\/span>, he is currently producing the upcoming horror feature <\/span>Five Must Die<\/span> alongside his producing partner Michael Alden. Kuciak is also co-writing the sci-fi noir thriller <\/span>Innescape<\/span> with Jeffrey D.
