Philadelphia concluded it\u2019s celebration of the writing of the Declaration of Independence right here in Philadelphia<\/a> two hundred and fifty years ago in typical grand fashion. Even a stretch of blistering heat that brought multiple days of triple-digit heat<\/a> couldn\u2019t ruin a celebration that finished with the tradition of fireworks to commemorate July 4th that dates<\/a> all the way back to 1777.<\/p>\n But although Philadelphia\u2019s celebratory events are winding down and FIFA World Cup soccer concluded with Paraguay<\/a> vs. France\u200a\u2014\u200athe history of our city which captivates tourists and people alike from around the world\u200a\u2014\u200awill continue long after July<\/a> of 2026. And just maybe\u200a\u2014\u200athose Founding Fathers who labored over the exact wording that would declare<\/a> American freedom to the globe\u200a\u2014\u200awasn\u2019t only about immense courage.\u00a0<\/p>\n For Philadelphia\u200a\u2014\u200ait\u2019s people and and it\u2019s sports franchises alike\u200a\u2014\u200athat document doesn\u2019t just carry<\/a> independence. It carries a message of hope<\/a>. And when it comes to Philly sports in July of 2026\u200a\u2014\u200ahope springs eternal<\/a>.<\/p>\n Just a few months after the Phillies began this season<\/a> with a meager nineteen wins\u200a\u2014\u200aInterim Manager Don Mattingly has the team in second place in the NL East with a record<\/a> of 50\u201339 approaching the All-Star break<\/a>\u200a\u2014\u200aand once again positioning one of baseball\u2019s best rosters<\/a> to compete for a World Series.<\/p>\n We are just weeks away from the Eagles returning for NFL Training Camp<\/a> 2026 both in the shadow of America\u2019s Celebration of Independence and with the intention of moving past one of the most disappointing seasons in Philadelphia history<\/a>. The Eagles may have lost a superstar in this past month<\/a>\u200a\u2014\u200abut have once again bolstered the roster<\/a> through free agency and are a plus +1600 odds in Vegas<\/a> to win another Super Bowl. It cascades down through the City\u2019s Big 5 and area collegiate Athletic Programs to those of it\u2019s high school sports as well\u200a\u2014\u200amany of which date from the 1800s<\/a>. Even team USA has made history<\/a> here after being victorious in FIFA World Cup matches in Philadelphia<\/a> with thousands of fans watching with great excitement<\/a> near Lemon Hill in Fairmount Park.<\/p>\n Those words which were printed over one hundred and fifty times this week back in 1776 thanks to Philadelphia Printer John Dunlap<\/a> carried with it a defiant tone of resolve to build this nation.
