Up winding lanes
\nThrough unkempt parks
\nAnd haunted woodland
\nNight gathers its mass
\nThe further I get from home
\nPushing my lungs
\nTo feel the incline<\/p>\n
Towards a hilltop
\nWhere I\u2019ve perched before
\nA hundred soulless Saturdays
\nA wash of stolen Sundays
\nLost in awe and wordless wonder
\nCaught\u00a0in the vastness
\nWeighting up my lot<\/p>\n
My unfurling world
\nA kaleidoscope of colour
\nPartner slowly retreating
\nFingers slipping from my grip
\nWith every broken parting
\nInto the safety of that chamber
\nThe echo of slow heartbreak<\/p>\n
These city lights
\nThis beauty at night
\nWill call me back
\nOne day I\u2019ll return
\nWhen the search is done
\nAnd who\u2019ll sit with me<\/p>\n
On dusk benches
\nHigh on the wonder

\nOf this treasure chest
