The first season aired during the Spring 2026 anime season.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">The anime, which follows an assassin who is forced to hunt for a bride as well as the marriage swindler who helps him, is an adaptation of the manga written by <strong>Joumyakyu<\/strong>\u00a0and drawn by\u00a0<strong>Mizuki Yoda<\/strong>.\u00a0<strong>Motonobu<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Hori\u00a0<\/strong>(<em>Metallic Rouge<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Super Crooks<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Carole &amp; Tuesday<\/em>) directed the show at <strong>Bones Film<\/strong>. \u00a0<strong>Haruki Ishiya<\/strong> voiced the assassin protagonist Hikaru Gero, while\u00a0<strong>Shion Wakayama<\/strong> played the marriage swindler Mei Kinosaki.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">The\u00a0<em>MARRIAGETOXIN\u00a0<\/em>manga began in Shueisha\u2019s Shonen Jump + in 2022 and has 17 volumes as of April 2026. It placed eighth in the Tsugi ni Kuru Manga Taisho 2022\u2019s web category. Manga Plus and Viz Media have it in English, with the former\u2019s synopsis being:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\"><em>A hitman and a marriage swindler set out on the world\u2019s most grueling battle for marriage! Gero is a young man from a clan of hitmen, which has been in existence for hundreds of years. As someone who\u2019s never gone to school and lived his life dealing in the dark side of the business, he considers himself to have \u201cno prospects with women\u201d and marriage as \u201csomething not for him.\u201d However, one day, in fear that their lineage would dissolve, his clan warns Gero that if he doesn\u2019t marry and produce an heir, they would have no choice but to\u2026force his little sister into doing \u201cthat.\u201d Driven to his wits\u2019 end, Gero asks the target of his work, a marriage swindler, to marry him?! With the swindler as his advisor, the hitman\u2019s pursuit of the perfect marriage begins.
