It’s a safety hazard if people are speeding,” said driver Ken Shrive. “The fact that they’re up, it’s going to keep a lot of collisions down.”<\/p>\n We’ve heard mixed opinions on the dozens of speed cameras already along Roosevelt Blvd. and most of Broad Street, which are two of the busiest roads in the city.<\/p>\n RELATED: <\/strong> Warning period ends for school speed zone cameras<\/p>\n When you add Frankford Ave. to the mix, that makes 80 speed cameras now in Philadelphia, according to the PPA.<\/p>\n The PPA says speeding tickets on the Boulevard have dropped by 93% since the program began in 2020.<\/p>\n Fatal and serious injury crashes have decreased by 21%, and crashes on the Boulevard involving people hit by cars have decreased by 50%.<\/p>\n Tickets start at $100 for anyone going faster than 35 mph.<\/p>\n Fines max out at $150.<\/p>\n Copyright \u00a9 2026 WPVI-TV.
