In collaboration with the hit video game, Dead by Daylight<\/strong><\/em>, band Ice Nine Kills<\/strong> has released a new track and music video titled \u201cPlay Dead<\/strong>\u201c, and let me tell you, it\u2019s a banger. <\/p>\n

Written for\u00a0Dead by Daylight<\/em>\u2019s 10th Anniversary, the track was written with longtime\u00a0Dead by Daylight<\/em>\u00a0composer\u00a0Michel F. April\u00a0<\/strong>and arrives alongside an in-game\u00a0<\/strong>Ice Nine Kills\u00a0Collection, allowing players to represent the band inside the game\u2019s ever-expanding horror universe with unique DLC.<\/p>\n

\u201cPlay Dead<\/em>\u201d welcomes skateboard legend\u00a0Tony Hawk<\/strong>,\u00a0Devon Sawa<\/strong>\u00a0(Idle Hands<\/em>),\u00a0Krsy Fox<\/strong>\u00a0(Terrifier 3<\/em>), and the\u00a0Dead by Daylight<\/strong>\u00a0team to the INKverse. They join the Ice Nine Kills\u2019 celebrated lore, which has featured genre stars including\u00a0Matthew Lillard\u00a0<\/strong>(Scream<\/em>),\u00a0David Arquette<\/strong>\u00a0(Scream)<\/em>,\u00a0Terry Kiser<\/strong>\u00a0(Weekend at Bernie\u2019s<\/em>),\u00a0Catherine Corcoran<\/strong>\u00a0(Terrifier<\/em>), and Bill Mosely (The Devil\u2019s Rejects<\/em>), and many others. <\/p>\n

Said Ice Nine Kills\u2019\u00a0mastermind, Spencer Charnas<\/strong>: \u201cIce Nine Kills has always lived somewhere between menace and mischief. \u2018Play Dead,\u2019 our take on Dead by Daylight<\/em>, is a collision of hooks, horror, and total chaos<\/strong>. As lifelong horror fans, we find it surreal and an absolute honor to have Ice Nine Kills\u2019 music officially tied to Terrifier<\/em>, Scream<\/em>, Ready or Not<\/em>, and now, the iconic survival horror game Dead by Daylight<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Collaborating with Dead by Daylight<\/em> gave us the chance to step into a world that feels deeply aligned with our creative instincts. The game has an incredible legacy, and that chaotic, eerie, immersive energy is something we respect and admire. We wanted the song to feel like a real extension of that universe, not just inspired by it, but genuinely part of it.<\/p>\n

We worked closely with longtime composer Michel F. April to ensure every detail, from the atmosphere to the intensity, felt true to the game, and we spent time on set with Dead by Daylight<\/em> creatives Mathieu Cote<\/strong> and Eric Pope<\/strong>, as well as player experts like SpookyLoopz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The video also features iconic genre star Devon Sawa. He\u2019s one of my favorite actors, from Idle Hands<\/em> and Final Destination<\/em> to literally playing \u201cStan\u201d in the Eminem video. And we\u2019ve got Krsy Fox, one of the new modern horror scream queens, who not only had a showstopping performance in Terrifier 3<\/em>, but is a kickass indie horror film producer, too.<\/p>\n

Having Tony Hawk appear with us felt essential because he isn\u2019t just the Michael Jordan of skateboarding. He\u2019s synonymous with the marriage of music, gaming, and subculture. We bonded over the same offbeat pop-culture touchstones, from punk rock to the irreverent \u201980s comedies like The Naked Gun<\/em> that shaped my brain just as much as horror did.<\/p>\n

And of course, Dingbar Tarbani slithered in to make things even stranger.\u201d<\/p>\n

The release follows the band\u2019s official song from Scream 7<\/em> (another banger), \u201cTwisting The Knife (feat. Mckenna Grace)<\/em><\/strong>\u201c. <\/p>\n
