I was very young when Tupac and Biggie were murdered in cold blood but I still shared the pain of millions that mourned the lost of such talent in such a violent manner. This time around, I was of age when The most popular rapper in the game was killed. Nothing could of prepared me for the emotions evoked from within when I bared witness to the barbaric way Nipsey was taken from this world and the rawness of watching the video\/images that circulated on social media.<\/em><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He was and still is one of my favorite rappers and his Victory Lap album was still on constant rotation leading up to his untimely end. He is the Tupac of this generation and when he claimed it on one of his songs I felt it.<\/em><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Ermias Joseph Asghedom<\/strong> (August 15, 1985 \u2013 March 31, 2019), known professionally as Nipsey Hussle<\/strong> (often stylized as Nipsey Hu$$le<\/strong>), was an American rapper, activist, and entrepreneur.[1]<\/a>Emerging from the West Coast hip hop<\/a> scene in the mid-2000s, Hussle independently released his first mixtape<\/a>, Slauson Boy Volume 1<\/em>, to moderate local success, which led to him being signed to Cinematic Music Group<\/a> and Epic Records<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hussle became known for his numerous mixtapes<\/a>, including his Bullets Ain\u2019t Got No Name<\/em> series, The Marathon<\/em><\/a>, The Marathon Continues<\/em><\/a>, and Crenshaw<\/em><\/a>, the last of which rapper Jay-Z<\/a> bought 100 copies for $100 each.[7]<\/a> After much delay, his debut studio album Victory Lap<\/em><\/a> was released in 2018 to critical acclaim and commercial success,[8]<\/a>[9]<\/a>[10]<\/a>[11]<\/a> and was nominated for the Best Rap Album<\/a> at the 61st Grammy Awards<\/a> in 2019. Two posthumous Grammy Awards<\/a> for the songs \u201cRacks in the Middle<\/a>\u201d and \u201cHigher<\/a>\u201d were awarded to Hussle in the Best Rap Performance<\/a> and Best Rap\/Sung Performance<\/u><\/a> <\/u>categories, respectively, the next year at the 62nd Grammy Awards<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also known for his entrepreneurship, Hussle inaugurated the Marathon Clothing store, which he founded along with partners Carless, the head of the agency, Karen Civil<\/a> and his brother Samiel Asghedom in 2017, and started a co-working<\/a> environment which he named \u201cVector 90\u201d.On March 31, 2019, Hussle was fatally shot outside his store Marathon Clothing in South Los Angeles<\/a>. Eric Holder, a 29-year-old man who had confronted Hussle earlier in the day, was arrested and charged with murder on April 2, 2019.[15]<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
