WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) — <\/span>Two people were shot inside Wilmington Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware, on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n Police officials say officers were called to the facility in the 500 block of W. 14th Street around 3:30 p.m.<\/p>\n Arriving officers found two gunshot victims. Their conditions have not been released.<\/p>\n Law enforcement sources tell ABC News that preliminary information indicates the incident began when one hospital employee shot two other employees.<\/p>\n The alleged shooter may have been only a temporary employee. The suspect’s identity is known to police, who are currently conducting a manhunt.<\/p>\n The conditions of the injured are not known at the moment.<\/p>\n Police believe the incident is strictly a workplace shooting, ABC News has learned, though officials say the scene is still active and the info could still change.<\/p>\n Wilmington’s mayor, police chief and Delaware’s governor are set to hold a news conference at 7:30 p.m. You can watch it live on 6abc, 6abc.com and wherever you stream 6abc.<\/p>\n Brian Pfeffer is a hospital guide who was in the Emergency Department at the time. He said he heard the shots, and was there as armed police entered the building.<\/p>\n “It was super intense. I’m kind of shaking,” he said. “God forbid anyone should have to be a part of that.”<\/p>\n Chopper 6 video showed people leaving the hospital with their hands up.<\/p>\n Action Cam video showed a number of police vehicles at the entrance to the hospital’s Emergency Department late Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n A large number of police, firefighters and medics could be seen from Chopper 6.<\/p>\n The hospital is in lockdown, and Wilmington police are asking the public to avoid the area.<\/p>\n Stay with Action News and 6abc.com as this story develops.<\/em> Copyright \u00a9 2026 WPVI-TV.
