Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said Monday any possible team discipline levied against Jalen Carter\u00a0for spitting<\/a>\u00a0on Dallas\u2019 Dak Prescott would remain \u201cprivate, regardless if you see it or not\u201d in a Super Bowl rematch against the Chiefs.\n<\/p>\n

Sirianni declined to specifically address details of any kind of conversation he had about the incident with Carter, who essentially sat out Thursday night\u2019s opener against Dallas when he was ejected without playing a snap.\n<\/p>\n

The Eagles play again Sunday in Kansas City.\n<\/p>\n

Carter apologized after the standout defensive tackle was\u00a0tossed for unsportsmanlike conduct<\/a>\u00a0six seconds into Philadelphia\u2019s season-opening win against the Cowboys. The Eagles were hit with a 15-yard penalty before the first snap from scrimmage, and the Cowboys scored on the opening drive on Javonte Williams\u2019 1-yard touchdown run.\n <\/p>\n

Prescott and Carter exchanged words after the opening kickoff, and Carter spit on Prescott\u2019s jersey before backing away. Prescott quickly motioned to a nearby official, who threw the flag and sent Carter packing. Fans booed as Carter walked off slowly, holding his helmet in his hands behind his back.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a mistake that happened on my side. It won\u2019t happen again,\u201d Carter said after the game. \u201cI feel bad for just my teammates and fans out there. I\u2019m doing it for them. I\u2019m doing it for my family, also. But the fans, they showed the most love.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

Prescott said he simply spit straight ahead as he usually would, only for the saliva to land in the area near Carter, which raised the ire of the defenseman.\n<\/p>\n

Prescott said Carter asked, \u201cYou trying to spit on me?\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was insulting me,\u201d Prescott said. \u201cI wouldn\u2019t spit on somebody. I\u2019m definitely not trying to spit on you. We\u2019re about to play a game.\u201d\n<\/p>\n
