What happens when one hundred of the genre\u2019s brightest luminaries sit down for the most candid and revealing interviews of their careers? That\u2019s the selling point for the new Harker Press release Icons of Fright: 100 Interviews with Legendary Horror Filmmakers<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n The interviews in the book were conducted over two decades and span seventy-five years of film, promising \u201ca unique and often raw insight into the classic horror films of yesteryear and today (and some not-so-classics).\u201d Harker Press teases, \u201cFrom the Universal Monsters to modern day meta, there\u2019s something here for every horror fan to sink their fangs into.\u201d<\/p>\n Featuring an introduction by writer\/director Neil Marshall<\/strong> (The Descent, Dog Soldiers, Hellboy<\/em>), the book contains a slew of never before seen interviews. These include new discussions with Parker Finn<\/strong> (Smile<\/em>), Jon Watts<\/strong> (Final Destination: Bloodlines<\/em>) and Danny Philippou<\/strong> (Talk to Me<\/em>) along with several \u201clost\u201d interviews with Tom Holland<\/strong> (Fright Night<\/em>), Katt Shea<\/strong> (The Rage: Carrie 2<\/em>) and David J. Schow<\/strong> (The Crow<\/em>).<\/p>\n Guillermo del Toro raves,\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s like having a fun, long dinner with old friends.\u201d<\/p>\n Originally founded by Rob Galluzzo and Mike Cucinotta, Icons of Fright began as a long form web magazine in 2004. Soon joined by Adam Barnick and Jason Alvino, the group would go on to interview nearly three-hundred horror filmmakers during its original run. This new book collects one hundred of the group\u2019s best interviews with horror\u2019s most iconic personalities.<\/p>\n Now, over twenty years after its original inception, Icons of Fright will also be launching a 5-episode limited series podcast meant to air as a companion piece to the book; a video version of which will premiere exclusively on the Burnettwork, Robert Meyer Burnett\u2019s popular YouTube channel.
