Despite the mixed reception to The New Colossus<\/strong><\/em> and its spin-off in Youngblood<\/strong><\/em>, there\u2019s no question that developer MachineGames was able to resurrect the Wolfenstein<\/strong><\/em> series for modern audiences. Heck, Amazon has its sights set on a TV adaption. Luckily for gamers, MachineGames isn\u2019t quite done with the series, and in fact has plans for a third entry.<\/p>\n In the latest documentary from NoClip on the making of the modern Wolfenstein<\/em>, MachineGames reveals that the studio\u2019s plans for their take on the series was always to be a trilogy. \u201cThe first game is very much about BJ, and obviously he understands that the Nazis won the war but it\u2019s also a very personal journey for him,\u201d says MachineGames studio head Jerk Gustafsson<\/strong>. Gustafsson then goes on to explain the progression and growth of BJ\u2019s character, which sees him meeting Anya in The New Order<\/strong><\/em>, then becoming part of the resistance in The New Colossus<\/em>, which in turn leads to BJ starting a family (which was expanded upon in Youngblood)<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cI think this is important to say because we have always seen this as a trilogy,\u201d Gustafsson continues. \u201cSo that journey for BJ, even those during those first weeks at id [Software], when we mapped out New Order<\/em>, we still had the plan for at least that character \u2013 what will happen in the second one, and what will happen in the third one. I think that\u2019s that\u2019s important to say because, at least I hope, that we\u2019re not done with Wolfenstein<\/em> yet. We have a story to tell.\u201d<\/p>\n Of course, that\u2019s not a definite confirmation that Bethesda has given the green light for a third entry just yet. However, with the announcement of the TV series, one would think it\u2019d make sense for the series to continue.
