A case of alleged assault and harassment of the sister of Farrukhabad BJP MP Mukesh Rajput has come to light in Uttar Pradesh\u2019s Etah district, after a video of the incident went viral on social media. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred in Rani Avantibai Nagar. In the viral video, the woman\u2019s father-in-law is seen repeatedly striking her with sticks in full public view.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
In her written complaint to the police, she alleged long-term domestic violence and said her in-laws have been trying to drive her out of the household.<\/p>\n
Reena claimed her father-in-law and brother-in-law secretly filmed her while she was bathing.<\/p>\n
When she objected, she was beaten with the butt of a rifle by her father-in-law.<\/p>\n

Viewers’ discretion is advised.<\/strong><\/p>\n She further alleged that as she attempted to escape, her brother-in-law attacked her with an iron rod on the street, leaving her wounded.<\/p>\n The footage has triggered strong reactions locally and increased pressure on the police to act.<\/p>\n The complainant, identified as Reena Rajput, has been married in Rani Avantibai Nagar of Etah for 17 years.<\/p>\n “I have two daughters, so my in-laws beat me up. They have been torturing me for a long time and for some reason they want to get rid of me,” complainant Reena Rajput, sister of BJP MP Mukesh Rajput, alleged.<\/p>\n She further claimed that when the bad treatment by her in-laws did not bear any fruit, they filmed a video of her when she was having a bath. “As soon as I objected, they came out and beat me up in front of everyone. They beat me a lot with sticks and lathis (canes) and also beat my daughter,” Reena said.<\/p>\n According to the complaint, the assault took place in the presence of several people in the neighbourhood but no one stepped forward to help her.<\/p>\n Following the circulation of the video online, police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).<\/p>\n Police confirmed that investigations are underway. “A case has been registered, and the matter is being investigated.
