I saw the movie before I learned of the man. The first time learning about someone from watching a film is a weird way to learn about someone as inspirational and exemplary as Malcolm. I was glued to my screen and for the entire time of the film I was hoping for a happy ending\u2026a happy ending I didn\u2019t get.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n

\u201cHe wasn\u2019t perfect, in fact his origins was downright the opposite of perfect. But the fact he was able to overcome his past and build a future such as he did was remarkable. The movie surely played a role in my eventual embarking of a filmmaker but the real life story of Malcolm X definitely played a role in my journey of a man.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s befitting that today as I honor a hero violently assassinated and with the murder never being solved, that the trending topic online is for an investigation into the role the FBI played in his untimely end.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

\u201cThe ending to the Malcom X movie tore me to pieces and what made it worse, is I really watched as a young innocent kid truly innocently ignorant to how the Malcom X story ended. I was just a kid hoping for a happy ending.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
