A two-minute Mob Psycho 100 animation has been released in commemoration of the anime’s 10th anniversary.
The Reigen and Mob-focused short was storyboarded, written, unit directed, and directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa (director of Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine, Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer, Blue Giant), who directed Mob Psycho 100‘s first two seasons and assumed the chief director role for Season 3. Mob Psycho 100 character designer Yoshimichi Kameda handled the animation direction.
The first season of Mob Psycho 100 began airing back on July 12, 2016, while the third and final season (directed by Takahiro Hasui) arrived in 2022. The anime, an adaptation of the Shogakukan-published manga by ONE, has the following synopsis from Crunchyroll:
Kageyama Shigeo, a.k.a. “Mob,” is a boy who has trouble expressing himself, but who happens to be a powerful esper. Mob is determined to live a normal life and keeps his ESP suppressed, but when his emotions surge to a level of 100%, something terrible happens to him! As he’s surrounded by false espers, evil spirits, and mysterious organizations, what will Mob think? What choices will he make?
Mob Psycho 100 was produced by BONES (its production division is now a subsidiary called BONES FILM) and had Hiroshi Seko as series composer, Shihoko Nakayama as color designer, Ryo Kono as background art director, Mayuko Furumoto as photography director, and Kenji Kawai as music composer. Setsuo Ito is the voice of Mob.
The manga debuted in 2012 in Ura Sunday and ended in 2017 in Manga One. Dark Horse Comics released the 16th and final volume in English on May 5, 2026.
