With the first two movies making over $500 million worldwide, of course Blumhouse are eager for a third Five Nights at Freddy’s chapter.
However, we haven’t heard much about what they have in store… until now!
According to official sources, prolific genre screenwriter Gary Dauberman has been tapped to write Five Nights at Freddy’s 3.
Of course, Dauberman has a sizeable genre catalogue behind him, including writing the Annabelle franchise and It chapters one and two.
Alongside the announcement of Dauberman’s involvement, it was confirmed that longtime FNaF director Emma Tammi will return. However, it remains unknown if Tammi will have any input in the script.
What also remains unclear is if legacy cast members Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lall, and Matthew Lillard are also set to return. However, Lillard did let slip in 2023 that he’d signed a three-picture contract.
Blumhouse and Universal are once again set to finance and distribute, but as of June 2026, Five Nights at Freddy’s 3 doesn’t yet have a release date.
Given the mixed reception FNaF 2 garnered, the confirmation of a third may not be music to the ears of horror fans. However, when has that ever stopped a horror franchise?
We’ll be here to bring you any further Five Nights at Freddy’s updates as soon as we can.
