Battle royale FPS Apex Legends has unveiled a collaboration with the Cyberpunk franchise, featuring skins and other additions inspired by the open world RPG Cyberpunk 2077 and, more relevantly, the first season of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime.
Of the collaboration’s eight Legend skins, three are based on Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. These consists of skins of Lucy (for Axle), David (for Sparrow), and Rebecca (for Rampart). The three characters have also received holosprays, with David’s saying, “To the top then,” and stickers.
Developer Respawn Entertainment also seeks to reference David and Lucy with the incoming Sandevistan and Blackwall Breach cyberware, which will be added to the faster-paced Wildcard mode. “The Sandevistan captures the power of speed that David learns to wield as he embraces life as an edgerunner, while Blackwall Breach showcases the devastating power a skilled netrunner like Lucy can unleash on nearby enemies,” an explanation from Lead Technical Designer Jesse Medellin reads.
With these cyberware comes the risk of Cyberpsychosis, the mental illness that affects some augmented individuals in the Cyberpunk universe. “Your Cyberware Capacity fills as you use Cyberware. Redline it and you go full Cyberpsycho. High movement speed, devastating melee damage, but no weapons, no abilities, no shields, and no ordnance. Keep your chrome in check or reverse Cyberpsychosis with Immunoblocker Syringes scattered across the map or Immunoblocker Caches that fully reset your meter,” says Respawn.
Another feature of the Apex Legends x Cyberpunk collaboration is a nighttime, Night City makeover for the E-District map. Expect to see “towering neon skyboxes,” “holographic koi drifting through the sky,” “glitched-out signage,” and an “Arasaka Citadel takeover of the Energy Bank.”
The collaboration will also feature Reward Shop eight weapon skins (for the Wingman, Charge Rifle, Mastiff, L-STAR, P2020, RE-45, R-301, and Kraber) and a Mythic Skippy Alternator. The latter comes with the “Puppy Loving Pacifist” and “Stone Cold Killer” modes and can be upgraded with Exotic Shards.
The announcement comes days after the reveal of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2‘s second teaser trailer and Fall 2026 Netflix release date. While Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will feature a new main cast, some of the first season’s edgerunners have showed up recently in collaborations with the GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE- and Wuthering Waves games, or in the prequel manga Cyberpunk: Edgerunners MADNESS. There’s also an upcoming artbook titled The Art of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, which will go on sale in late July.
Earlier this year, Apex Legends had a collaboration with the Gundam franchise that included new Gunpla.
