Vspo! Announces Refund for Feature-Length Anime Production Following Delay

Japanese VTuber agency Vspo! has announced that it will be offering full refunds for its now-delayed “Vspo! STUDIO MEMBERS” project, which includes production for a feature-length anime series. In a statement on its website, the agency said that they are having difficulty providing a clear timeline for the production of the anime series.

Regardless of the delay, Vspo! has assured that production and eventual release for the anime series are still underway, and that the project will not be cancelled.

Following this, Vspo! has said that the members’ site for the “Vspo! STUDIO MEMBERS” will remain accessible until December 31, 2026. In the meantime, no new updates regarding the project will be posted on the site. More details about the refund process will be announced within July this year.

The crowdfunding project was first announced on October 24, 2024, and aimed to fund the anime series production, which will include 12 episodes and will feature Vspo!’s talents.

Some of the perks included in the membership include invitations to advance screenings of the anime, inclusion of names in the credits, voice-over scripts, anime setting materials/original drawing collections, staff passes, and other advanced information on the anime.

Hiroki Hirano, who served as director for the first cour of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2 and assistant director on the anime’s first season, is directing the upcoming Vspo! anime at PINE JAM. Other members of the anime production include Kota Mori, known for his storyboard and episode direction work on Episode 16 of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, who is serving as assistant director, while Hiroo Nagano, previously co-animation director on Fate/strange Fake: Whispers of Dawn, is handling the character designs.
