Donation theft row: Ram Mandir Trust to decide fate of Champat Rai, Anil Mishra

A crucial meeting of the Ram Mandir Trust will be held shortly today in Ayodhya to address allegations of theft and missing donations. The trust members, including Chairperson Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, are set to decide the fate of general secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra. Sources suggest both office bearers may face ouster and lose their lifetime memberships, requiring a two-thirds majority from the trust. The meeting follows concerns raised by devotees and claims by former Home Secretary S. Laxmi Narayanan regarding a missing gold-plated Ramcharitmanas worth five crore rupees. The trust clarified that the item is safely kept in a vault. Five individuals, including close associates of Champat Rai, have already been arrested in connection with the alleged theft. If Champat Rai is removed, Vishva Hindu Parishad International General Secretary Bajrang Lal Bagra is emerging as the frontrunner to fill the vacancy. Key attendees include Swami Govind Dev Giri, Nripendra Misra, and K. Parasaran.
