Animation studio TRIGGER announced during its panel at Anime Expo 2026 that a fourth project between director Hiroyuki Imaishi (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners) and screenwriter Kazuki Nakashima (BNA: Brand New Animal, Back Arrow) is in development. 

Additional information about the new project was not revealed during the panel. It is not known when the project will debut or what format it will be released in.

TRIGGER also released an English-subtitled video featuring Imaishi and Nakashima, where they confirmed the production of their next work together and encouraged their fans to look forward to it. 

Imaishi and Nakashima previously collaborated on the TV anime series Gurren Lagann in 2007 and Kill l a Kill in 2013, as well as the 2019 Promare anime film. 

TRIGGER’s follow-up to its Cyberpunk: Edgerunner anime series, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2, is slated to begin streaming on Netflix this coming fall with a total of 10 episodes. A new teaser trailer and Japanese/English voice cast were also announced last week. 

Meanwhile, the upcoming second season of Delicious in Dungeon will premiere in Japan in October 2027 and stream on Netflix. A teaser visual was released during this year’s Anime Expo weekend.
