Shingo Natsume’s Ghost Movie Unveils Teaser Trailer, February 2027 Release

A teaser trailer has been been released for Ghost (now subtitled Yoru no Hate), the upcoming original anime film directed by Shingo Natsume (One-Punch Man Season 1, The Tatami Time Machine BluesSonny Boy) at Madhouse. The vague and mysterious preview comes with a snippet of the Hitsujibungaku insert song “Sugar” and the reveal of the movie’s February 11, 2027 theatrical release date.

According to the YouTube description, the movie is set in the near future, where work is no longer a necessity. The protagonist, Nike, seeks something genuine and opposes the order of this fulfilled society.

In addition to the teaser trailer, Ghost received a teaser visual and the announcement of a manga adaptation will debut in KADOKAWA’s Young Ace. Himiko is the manga’s artist.

The movie is written by Natsume and features original character designs by manga artist Natsume Ono (whose ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Department manga was adapted into a Natsume-directed TV anime) and character designs by Norifumi Kugai (ACCA: 13, Sonny Boy). Ohzora Kimishima is the music composer.

Natsume, scriptwriter Tomohiro Suzuki (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Department series composer), the film’s distributor Bandai Namco Filmworks, and Madhouse are listed as Ghost‘s creators.

When Ghost was announced last June, the post for two stills described Nike as someone “rebelling against the irrationality of the world in order to protect the ‘starry sky.’” and said that the anime “lyrically” depicts her “solitude and bravery,” as well the “subtleties of the heart” that come from relationships with others.
