Voice actress Mirei Kumagai is joining the voice cast of the upcoming Kindergarten Wars TV anime series. The anime will premiere in Japan in Spring 2027.
Kumagai will voice the teacher character Mac, who wears a yellow bear costume. She previously voiced Mimori Futaba from the Backflip!! anime series.
She joins a previously announced voice cast that include:
- • Atsumi Tanezaki as Rita
- • Kentaro Kumagai as Doug
- • Hitomi Owada as Hana
- • Satoshi Hino as Luke
- • Mariya Ise as Silvia
Shinsuke Gomi is directing the anime series, with Junko Yamanaka (Kono Oto Tomare!: Sounds of Life) as the character designer. Sunrise and Felix Film are handling the animation production.
An anime adaptation of the manga was first announced in October 2025.
You Chiba’s action romantic comedy web manga series debuted on Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump+ app on September 15, 2022. Seventeen tankobon volumes have been published in Japan as of April 2026, with an 18th volume set to be released on August 4, 2026. The series received an honorable mention at the 3rd LINE Manga Taisho.

Yen Press licensed the Kindergarten Wars manga for English release, describing the main synopsis as:
Rita is Convict No. 999, a former legendary assassin who now works at a kindergarten for the children of the world’s most powerful people. Her job is to protect the kids from the clutches of would-be assassins! But even with her overwhelming strength, Rita has one fatal flaw—she falls head over heels for good-looking men, even if they’re her enemies! Can she find the hottie soulmate of her dreams amid the chaos at the “world’s safest kindergarten”?
