A second season has been announced for the Snowball Earth TV anime series, shortly after the broadcast of its final episode. A premiere date for season two has not been revealed, as of the time of writing, and more updates will be provided in the future.
The anime first premiered in Japan on April 3, 2026 and ended on June 26, 2026 with a total of 13 episodes.
Munehisa Sakai (ZOMBIE LAND SAGA) directed the first season, with Takeshi Iwata (The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors Season 2 co-director) as assistant director, Shigeru Murakoshi (Apocalypse Hotel) as series composer, and Toshiya Kono (‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess co-character designer) as character designer and chief animation director. Studio KAI is handling the animation production.

The sci-fi mecha manga series by Yuhiro Tsujitsugu began serialization in Shogakukan’s seinen magazine Monthly Big Comic Spirits on January 27, 2021 and has released 11 tankobon volumes as of April 2026. The manga was the recipient of the Spirits Award in 2019. VIZ Media releases the series in English.

Tetsuo is a shy boy whose only companion is Yukio, a giant robot who once fought beside him to save Earth from invading monsters.
